Terms and Conditions

Thank you for choosing to book with The Cavendish Bed and Breakfast. We look forward to welcoming you.

By making this booking and paying your deposit you are entering into a legally binding contract and accepting our Terms and Conditions with us in full. Please read our terms and conditions of booking below.

The following conditions apply to all bookings made with The Cavendish Bed and Breakfast, Scarborough, whether by phone, email or online.

Our deposit and cancellation policy is simple. If you are at all unsure do please ask before you book with us.

Your deposit equal to the cost of the first night’s stay per room will be taken at the time of booking. This is non-refundable and non-transferable.

Once booked and your deposit paid your dates and deposit are non-transferable. However, if you need to change your booking we will try to accommodate your request on a goodwill basis, subject to availability. We cannot guarantee the availability of new dates however.

The card you use to pay your deposit will be held against your booking and may be used in the event of a cancellation, no show or damage to the property.

If you cancel more than 14 days prior to your arrival you will not owe us anything more but your deposit will not be returned.

Prices

The price includes bed and breakfast. We accept the following forms of payment:

Cash, Debit or Credit Card.

We no longer accept personal cheques.

Acceptance of Children

We do not accept children at The Cavendish Bed and Breakfast, Scarborough.

Cancellation

By making your booking with us you are entering into a legally binding contract.

Cancellations will be charged based on the number of days before date of arrival within which notice of cancellation is received as follows:

The cancellation charge payable as above on cancellation.

The cancellation charges will be applied from the date that we receive your cancellation notice. We aim to acknowledge your cancellation within 48 hours. A cancellation reference will be given and must be retained as proof of cancellation.

It is advisable to take out an insurance policy against cancellation, which is inexpensive and can be obtained from any good broker.

In the case of non-arrival or departure earlier than originally booked you are still liable to pay for the booking in full.

Non-availability of Accommodation

We would only cancel your holiday if your accommodation was unavailable for reasons beyond our control. We would however attempt to offer you alternative accommodation. If this was not possible, or unacceptable to you, then we would refund all monies paid by your for the holiday. Our liability would not extend beyond this refund.

Arrival

Your accommodation will be available for you to check-in from 3 pm on the day of arrival, unless otherwise arranged. We may not be able to accommodate you if you arrive earlier than the agreed time as we will busy preparing your rooms; however, you can always leave your bags with us.

Late arrival procedure

Please ensure you contact us no later than 6 pm to let us know if you will be arriving later than 6 pm.

Departure

Please be ready to leave your accommodation by 10 am on the day of departure, unless otherwise arranged. The remainder of the invoice for your stay is payable on arrival.

We may be able to offer late check-out on request subject to availability [fees may apply].

Damages and breakages

Please take extra care when staying in our property. You are responsible and liable for any breakages or damages, which you cause, to the accommodation or its contents. All we ask is that you report any incidents that occur.

We do not normally charge for minor breakages, but we may send you an invoice for repair or making good if the damage or breakage is significant, and we may make an additional charge if you do not report this.

TCP

We respectfully request our guests do NOT use TCP during their stay at the Cavendish. If you do use TCP it will be against our Terms & Conditions and will result in charges for everything that is thrown away , for the intense cleaning of the room and you will also be charged for the number of days the room cannot be used until the odour has cleared fully. In past experience this can take up to 3 months to fully disappear.

Loss of Keys

There is a cost of £100 for loss of keys.

Smoking/vaping

We are a non-smoking and non-vaping bed and breakfast. Should you choose to ignore this policy, you will be asked to leave and charged in full for for your entire stay plus an additional £100 for specialist cleaning.

Additional Cleaning

If your room or its contents need additional cleaning caused by accident or negligence by yourself or other guests, we reserve the right to charge you an additional fee.

Unacceptable behaviour

The proprietors reserve the right to amend, curtail or terminate any contract should the conduct of the person who is a party to that contract cause any detriment to the well-being or comfort of other guests.

Parking

There is parking on Esplanade Road. We provide a free parking disk for you on arrival. Thereafter we will provide you with a Scarborough Borough Council parking permit for the duration of your stay. Cars are left at owners’ risk.

Free Wi-Fi Access

We offer FREE Wi-Fi access, allowing you to check your emails and surf the web via your laptop or mobile phone. Downloading large content from the web is not permitted [e.g. TV, videos, music].

We will not be liable if for any reason the Service is not available at any time or for any period. Access to the service may be suspended at any time.

Liability

We do not accept any liability for any damage, loss or injury to any member of your party or any vehicles or possessions, unless proven to be caused by a negligent act by ourselves or our employees or contractors whilst acting in the course of employment.

Privacy Policy

Any data collected during the course of this booking will be stored on our computer(s). With your permisson we may from time to time contact you about promotions and offers. We will not share your details with any third party.

Complaints or Comments

Any complaint or comment regarding your stay should be made in the first instance to the proprietors at the time of your stay so that it can be resolved at the time. Problems which cannot be resolved there and then should be emailed to sales@cavendishscarborough.co.uk,
